Unhappy employees are powerful!

If you have unhappy employees, they are more likely to be less productive than an employees who are happy with their work, and the time they spend being unproductive can cost you a fortune in the long run. The key is to keep your fellow employees happy and motivated. Happy employees work harder and get much more satisfaction out of their work.  So, “how do I get my employees to be happy?” is the question I keep getting asked over and over. The first thing you have to do is find out what motivates your employees. Have you ever asked them why they’re working for you and what they want out of the experience?  Once you find answers to these questions, it will much easier for you to motivate them. You also need to evaluate your workplace to see if it is actually a positive place for your employees to come to every day, or is it just a job? Creating a positive work environment can greatly influence the happiness of your employees. Employees love to show what they’re good at—they want to impress others. It is important for you, as the employer, to understand the strengths of your employees and build on them.  Emphasize their strengths and take time to recognize just how your employees’ strengths can play a crucial part into the overall picture!  You might be surprised at the impact it makes! Employees want to consider their work to be a profession, not a job.  These employees are much more loyal to the company and are also more effective when you involve them. Here are some other ways you can make your place more positive: Be positive and look like you want to be there! Smiling every day and looking for positive things to say to your co-workers can make a huge difference.  Stop the mood swings.  Always emphasize the strengths and minimize the weaknesses. Be sincere and show Interest! Engage your people and listen to them.  Make sure you let them know you care about their opinions. Say thanks! Acknowledge those individuals who go the extra mile!  Say how much you appreciate their efforts! Tell them ‘thank you’ with a handwritten note or small gift. Get excited! You may have to practice this one.  When things go well, celebrate, yell, ring bells!  Do whatever you need to do to make the workplace fun and contagious! Be the role model! Doing everything mentioned will put you on your way to having a remarkable workplace and happy employees. If you are going to talk the talk, you must walk the walk. When you start practicing what you preach, amazing things will happen.
