“Know Your Balance Sheet!” – Thursday, July 11th
During this 30+ minute session, Patty will discuss the intricacies of your balance sheet. It’s called a balance sheet because the two sides must balance out. Assets = Liabilities + Shareholders’ Equity. It makes sense—a company has to pay for all the things it has (assets) by either borrowing money (liabilities) or getting it from shareholders (shareholders’ equity). You’ll learn all the fine points of this key financial document during this session!
“Know Your Profit & Loss Statement!” – Thursday, August 29th
Your Profit & Loss Statement, also known as a P&L, is a financial statement that summarizes the revenues, costs, and expenses incurred during a specific period of time—usually a fiscal quarter or year. These records provide information that shows the ability of a company to generate profit by increasing revenue and reducing costs. The P&L is also known as a “statement of profit and loss”, an “income statement” or an “income and expense statement”. You’ll discover what you need to know to ensure you’re using this critical statement to the best of your ability in your business!
