Perception is Everything

When it comes to your business, perception is everything.  I your company has the reputation of being a professional, successful, hardworking and charitable business in your community, it will continue to grow.

If your company is believed to be ineffective, unprofessional, lazy and not trustworthy, your company will have a hard time growing.  To be the best in your community, you AND your employees need to act and look like professional experts in everything you do.

It starts with the Company:

  1. Have Professional Materials.  Anything you distribute should be tastefully made and free of any grammar errors.  Look at all brochures, flyers, advertising, signs, logos, agreements and employment ads.
  1. Streamline your Social Media Accounts.  Creating and maintaining a social media presence is a great way to attract new clients.  This can be Facebook, Twitter or Google +.  It also allows you to start a community dialogue, which will help you improve your reputation as being knowledgeable experts.

We must also focus on the Individual:

  1. Teach your Employees on how to make great first impressions.  Remember, we only have one chance at this.  This not only includes how they look, but also how they act when around potential and current clients, on or off the clock…
  1. Training is essential.  This will ensure your team is up to date on the tasks they will face on a daily basis working in the Customer Service world.  Teach your team to honor the uniform anytime they are wearing it.
  1. Share your expectations to your team.  Let them know that you expect them to remain professional at all times, both in person and on the web.  By laying down your requirements, they will know you are serious.

When you are in the spotlight, it only takes one employee, explicit picture or negative post to damage your reputation.

Oh, By the way!  We now have an AirTime 500 Member’s Only group on Facebook.  If you would like to be more active with AirTime 500, send a request to www.facebook.com/groups/AirTime500 and I will personally add you to the group.

Stay professional in everything you do!
